Maps are a fundamental part of adventuring outdoors and one of the most important outdoor skills to have to independently head out. Looking at a map and understand what it's telling you, the basic terms and processes to figure out what's going on will equip you to start exploring on and off marked trails.
The course will cover:
* Terms associated with map reading * Interpreting map symbols * Identifying and using measurement scale * Locating yourself and remote locations on map * Learning the process to navigating to a position using a map * Putting in practice what we learn outdoor on the terrain This half-day course is ideal for anyone new to map reading, as well as those with some experience who would like a refresher on the basics.
